Risa Takeuchi

Risa is a registered lawyer at the Bar of Brussels since 1994. She holds a Master of Laws (Université Libre de Bruxelles, 1991) and a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law (University of London, Queen Mary and Westfield College, 1992).

She worked for more than 20 years with the renowned lawyer and Professor Philippe De Page and gained an extensive experience in wealth and estate planning as well as in all aspects of succession law (civil, criminal and tax issues).

She is an official and certified specialist in patrimonial family law and tax law from the Brussels Bar.

Risa advises, assists, and defends her national and international clients (individuals and families including their businesses) in:  

Estate planning:

  • transfer of wealth (assets or businesses) to the next generation with tailor-made long term options and solutions depending on their personal status;
  • assistance in drafting deeds of gift and wills, marriage or cohabitation agreements, etc.

Resolving succession disputes: she will assist you in resolving succession disputes between heirs, legatees and other persons with legitimate interests in the estate. She will give you advice on the validity and interpretation of wills and other relevant deeds, division of estates. Risa will assist and defend you in court at all stages of the procedure. However, going to trial is not always in your best financial or personal interests and in this case she will help you to resolve the dispute quickly and privately in the framework of amicable agreements.

Tax regularisation – repatriation – money laundering issues: Risa will assist you in filing tax regularisations (DLU), repatriation of foreign funds to Belgium. She will assist you for compliance issues with banks or authorities in accordance with money laundering and the financing of terrorism preventive law by analyzing each of her client’s situation, etc.

Tax issues: she will assist both individuals and their companies (including assistance in tax rulings with the tax authorities) for their tax issues and litigations.
